If your question is not here, ask me. I would rather answer it before you book than have you sitting in the chair wondering.

Getting started

Before you book

Less than most people expect. Numbing products are used throughout, and the machine work itself is more of a scratching sensation than a sharp one. Almost every client tells me afterwards that they had built it up to be worse than it was. If you are anxious about this, say so at the consultation and we will go at your pace.

Yes, and it takes less than five minutes. It needs to be done in person, at least 48 hours before your appointment, though one to two weeks ahead is ideal. If you have ever had a tattoo or any form of permanent makeup, a patch test is not required, although you are welcome to have one. You can also choose to waive it, but I recommend it.

Yes. You must be at least 18, and I will ask for proof of identification.

No. This is standard across the industry and it is not negotiable.

If you have any medical conditions, take regular medication, or have any concerns about your suitability, tell me at your consultation and we will check before booking your treatment. If you are unsure, get in touch and ask rather than assuming the answer is no.

Every treatment is £300, which includes your perfecting session at four to six weeks. A £50 deposit secures your booking and is non-refundable.

I do not work over existing permanent makeup. It would need to be fully removed and healed first before I could treat the area.

On the day

The appointment

Around three hours for any of the treatments. That includes the consultation, the mapping or colour matching, and the treatment itself. The design stage is not rushed, because it is what determines the result.

Yes, always. Nothing permanent happens until you have looked in the mirror and told me you are happy. If you want it adjusted, we adjust it.

That is completely fine and it is quite common. Bring reference images if you have them, but you do not need a plan. Working out what suits your face is my job, not yours.

No. Because of the nature of the work, only the artist and the person being treated can be in the room. It is a hygiene and health and safety requirement, and it keeps the space calm and focused.

The first weeks

Healing

Darker, sharper and more intense than the final result, for both brows and lips. Lips may also swell a little for the first day or two. This is normal and it is not what you are left with.

The visible part is about seven to ten days, including some flaking and colour change. The colour keeps settling for several weeks after that, which is why the perfecting session is at four to six weeks rather than sooner.

Most people do not. You will look like you have had something done for the first week, particularly with lips. If you have something significant in the diary, leave a clear month between the treatment and the event, and more if you want the perfecting session done first too.

Because they are meant to. Brows fade back by roughly twenty five percent as they heal. Most brow photos you see online, mine included, are taken immediately after treatment when the pigment is at its darkest. The healed version is always softer, and that is the version you actually live with.

Almost always, yes. Skin takes pigment unevenly and some areas heal lighter than others. The top up is where it gets refined and finished. It is included in the price and it is part of the treatment, not a correction.

Longer term

Afterwards

Brows typically one to three years. Lips typically two to three years. The range is wide because it depends on your skin type, your lifestyle, how much sun you get and how well you follow the aftercare.

Not if the pigment is chosen properly for your skin and the depth is right. This is most of what the qualification and the experience are actually for. Good permanent makeup fades softer and lighter over time rather than changing colour.

More than you would think, and it matters. Full instructions are on the Care page, and you will get them in writing on the day.

Yes, but wait at least one month after your treatment before having Botox or filler in the treated area.
